Environmental Microbiology

There are several earth science texts and microbiology texts that hold promising information. SPecifically, the Environmental Microbiology textbook includes a section on environmental pathogens that includes bacteria like Salmonella, Vibrio, and E. coli. These are relevant newsworthy topics. Also, I might use this book to find information about biomarkers and the toxicology of waste.

Are there any organophosphates scenarios out there?

Are there more classroom ready materials for bioremediation?

The class should also involve a plating scenario with 4 different plates per student. Students will also pick a colony based on color.

Also, see PLOS microbiology.
